Our approach
The importance of creating a safe and positive environment which meets the individual needs of the people we support is paramount to our service delivery.
²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù Group’s key aim is to deliver Positive Behaviour Support by way of understanding behaviours that concern or challenge families, staff and services. This is achieved by understanding the message that a behaviour presents, enabling us in the recognised adjustment of the environment, our responses to the behaviour and by teaching new skills to give people better ways to access the things they need.
Positive Behaviour Support drives our culture and ethos, supporting people proactively to meet their needs and promoting individual person centred care. We believe that each person has the right to achieve and we look to provide the people we support with a platform to engage in meaningful activities and lifestyle choices to enhance their quality of life and wellbeing.
Independence
We promote and encourage our individuals to be as independent as possible, giving them a sense of ownership and belonging within a homely and safe environment. Community presence is also very important to us here at Blythe House and we utilise all amenities available to us as part of everyday life and the running of the home. This ensures that the people we support are an integral part of the local community and all it has to offer.
Daily life
The high staffing level at Blythe House enables the people we support to partake in activities that stimulate and that both meet and develop their needs and desires. Our individuals are encouraged to partake in many everyday activities such as grocery shopping, eating out, trips to the cinema, bowling and getting involved in the running of the home. Their independence and self-worth influence our desire to ensure they are as independent as possible and this is mirrored in the approach to running of the home.
