Hawthorn House pays their respects on Remembrance Day
To commemorate Remembrance Day, the young individuals at Hawthorn House crafted their very own ‘Remembrance Wreath’ using felt, pipe cleaners, and cardboard. Their lovingly made Remembrance Wreath was gifted to their local church to pay their respects.
Before making the wreath, the young people read a social story, with visual symbols, so they could understand the significance of the poppy and what Remembrance Day is.
The young people at Hawthorn House play an active part in their community and attend village events and fundraisers where they can build positive relationships with people in their community, inspiring acceptance.
